Thoughtfully refurbished, this cozy town house is modern yet comfortable in it's 170 year old skin.

Everything you will need for your stay is provided.

Downstairs is a warm sitting room / dining room. The main feature of this room is a beautiful fireplace set in an exposed stone wall. Seating is provided for 4 people. This room has Satellite TV, a DVD player and Stereo. This room leads to the kitchen. From here a small hallway leads to the private garden (off this hallway is a separate toilet). The garden, with its beautiful birch trees, has a lawn and timber decking with modern comfortable garden furniture. A charcoal BBQ is provided. From the decking the views are of country side with Sliebh Reagh mountain in the distance.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a shower room. The main bedroom has a double bed and storage. The second bedroom can be used as a single or twin and has a wardrobe. The bathroom is modern and fully tiled and has a power shower and toilet.

'The Birches' is located in the centre of the quiet country town of Kilfinane in the midst of the beautiful Ballyhoura Mountains, see mountainviews.ie/summit/397, with their endless possibilities for walking and featuring the longest mountain bike trails in Europe (96 km). The nearby Galtee Mountains, alongside the spectacular Glen of Aherlow, offer hillwalking and mountaineering opportunities at a higher altitude, boasting the highest peak in Co. Limerick at 919 m. Nearby you will find beautiful Lough Gur which is one of the oldest habitation areas in Ireland and has many archaeological sites and a stone circle older than Stonehenge www.loughgur.com

Other activities available in the area are horse riding, kayaking, fishing, rock climbing (Kilfinane also has an indoor climbing wall) just to mention a few.

The town of Kilfinane has a small supermarket, doctor, pharmacy and a number of traditional pubs.

The nearby towns of Kilmallock (10k), Charleville (20k) and Mitchelstown (20k) offer restaurants, pubs and supermarkets.

The house is just 40 km from Limerick City and 75 km from Shannon Airport.
